Being prepared means being proactive and taking steps to ensure that you are ready for whatever may come your way.
Each September is recognized as National Preparedness Month. It is to promote family and community disaster planning. We believe instead of just focusing only preparedness only in the month of September, we need to be prepared at all times. We have added information below from FEMA and Ready.gov to assist you in preparing yourself, your family and your business for disasters.
2023 Theme: Take Control in 1, 2, 3
The Ready Campaign’s 2023 National Preparedness Month theme is “Take Control in 1, 2, 3”. The campaign will focus on preparing older adults for disasters, specifically older adults from communities that are disproportionally impacted by the all-hazard events, which continue to threaten the nation. We know older adults can face greater risks when it comes to the multitude of extreme weather events and emergencies we now face, especially if they are living alone, are low-income, have a disability, or live in rural areas.

In this next section, we included information for older adults and people with disabilities. English and Spanish versions are available below by clicking on the link.
